DIRTY WARS POLISHED SILVER: The life and Times of a War Correspondent Turned Ambassatrix ~Lynda Schuster

“A riveting international thriller… A page turner thanks to lucid writing and thrilling story-telling “- Kirkus, starred review.

DIRTY WARS POLISHED SILVER is a book I was asked to review and I read every word and it was so marvelous, I reached the last word and turned around and read it a second time.    I am telling all my friends about this story and how inspiring it is and yes how funny; how sad is war and loss I cannot even imagine.  I am telling everyone about this book and yes, putting it on my recommendations for both of my book groups.  It is a memoir about a part of Lynda Schuster’s life and it is also a reality check about conflict and war and it’s many levels of damage.

“A wonderful, witty ride about hurling towards happiness and embracing maturity.” _ Sonia Nazario, Pulitzer Prize winning author of ENRIQUE’S JOURNEY”

“ The story of a woman breaking down barriers to becoming an accomplished war correspondent, and an on-the-ground narrative of the conflicts that wracked the world in the 1980’s and ‘90s.  It is also a tale of love, great loss, and love again that demonstrates the resilience of the soul.  I recommend it to all, but especially to those who wonder how to succeed in life by following both their head and their heart.” –Jeffrey Herbst, President and CEO, Newseum

“Captures all the glamour, intrigue, love, and, yes loss that’s to be found in a life lived on the frontlines, but it’s also a deliciously fun (and funny!) story of transformation.  A delight from start to finish.”  – Valerie Plame Wilson, author FAIR GAME.
