THE TIME TRAVELERS BOYFRIEND ~Annabelle Costa

“He wants Claudia to use the machine to travel back in time and stop the accident that landed him in a wheelchair over a decade ago, and prevent the trajectory of events that he believes ruined his life. When Claudia reluctantly agrees to become the first human time traveler, she knows she’s making a big gamble. If she succeeds, she could have the happy ending with commitment-phobic Adam that she’s always dreamed of. But if she fails, it could mean the end of the universe as she knows it.”  AMAZON

Any book that gives me a chuckle on nearly every page is a wonderful read to me.  THE TIME TRAVELER’S BOYFRIEND was just such a book.  I loved the tongue in cheek references, the premise of the story, the lessons to be learned, the worry of Claudia, the hunky, kindness of Adam, the craziness of the parents and the tick tocking bunny.  THE BITCH, well what an incredible character!

I immediately sent a copy to all three of my daughters and to one friend of the family who is also 30+ years old.  I thought this book was better than chocolate or jelly beans. Everyone I know can enjoy a love story.

The book took me 4 hours to read and I enjoyed every minute.  I do not think I would offer it up to either of my book groups; it is a perfect read for the beach or lawn chair with a glass of wine, and it is so clever and creative – the truth is just delightful and the moments of sarcasm are not off putting.  THE TIME TRAVELER’S BOYFRIEND is just delightful.

Now, this books sounds just like one of my favorite fun reads! I’ll have to check it out because it also might be great for my eldest.

I agree with what you said: “Any book that gives me a chuckle on nearly every page is a wonderful read to me.” That usually makes a book a winner for me.

    Great review, Patricia:~)

    Sara,
I have told everyone on my walk this morning about this book. I enjoyed the smile and the fresh story.

I have read a book a day for the past 7 days – straight – this was a breath of fresh air – I sent it right away to my 34 year old! and she will pass it on to her sisters.

Patricia – I love that you laughed on nearly every page; that’s a good enough recommendation for me. The added bonus that it’s even better than chocolate or jelly beans doesn’t hurt either…

I think Costa must have a permanent twinkle in her eye to view the world!
It was just so fun – coming of age Ah Ha!
And it is quite reasonably priced right now

Hi Patricia. I’m trying to resist CommentLuv bloghopping while I’m experimenting with being back online again – so, so easy to get sucked right back in and go overboard – but I saw the ladybird and just popped over to say hello and wish you well in case I do one of my sudden disappearing acts again. Finding the book review’s a bonus. I always have a light book on the go at any given time and this looks like fun; I like chic lit escapist books and enjoy them with a bit of chocolate or a glass of pink fizzy wine. They balance the heavier non fiction books I read or study during the day and the Lee Child thrillers I pinch from my son to read when I don’t fancy TV.

Glad to see your blog still going strong!

    Janice –
What a delight to find your comment and welcome back.
Blogging can be so overwhelming and I do not think folks realize the amount of work involved. I am seeing lots of blogs come and go and then return – or change focus.

I love to read, so blogging about books is fun and being on a tour gives me the right price for purchase! I read a number of books I am not so fond of, but I am also very sure I can discover someone who will enjoy the read.

Hope you are having a lovely spring – thank you for dropping in!

Great that you had a barrel of laughs with it. You read this in four hours? Wow. Fantastic!

    patricia Reply:

    Sam,
Maybe not a full barrel of laughter, but it was fun – and yes I did not take notes – I just relaxed into the read and enjoyed the twist and when finished sent it to my daughters right away – better than candy and an Easter Bunny!
