A New Thank You

Sunflower

Sunflower

I was dancing and walking yesterday because we awoke to sunshine. I was hungry for the sunshine and it distracted me for several hours and I could not remain inside.

I was grateful for the rays of laughter and the comradery of energy that just embellished the whole experience. Dogs were set free in happy.

This is the same way I feel about the folks who read my blog posts. I dance and feel the rain drying from my head and shoulders just knowing that so many have given me over 2 minutes of their time and energy to stop and connect. It is very important to me that I am listened to and heard; to know that someone came into my space and paused.

OH! And your comments just make my heart skip a beat and joy just rumble up the wind pipe and burst out loud with a breeze of delight. I think I will call it sighing into a hug. I am renewed. Thank you.

My gift to you is my meditation prayer for today. It is from the book Earth Prayers from Around The World; edited by Elizabeth Robert and Elias Amidon

I thank You God for most this amazing
day for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky, and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes

(I who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun’s birthday, this is the birth
day of life and of love and wings: and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)
how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any–lifted from the no
of all nothing – human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?
~E.E. Cummings

Did you recognize my words of thanks? I am just so in joy with each one of you – I just had to say something NOW. Do you every feel this way – so full it just spills out?

Looking forward to your reply – as you can plainly tell.

“I think I will call it sighing into a hug.” – what a gorgeous description of spilling-over joy.

I sighed into a hug reading your post, Patricia. Thank you!

(And, yes, there are times when my heart is simply filled right up with delight and I have to weep with happiness)

It is you who has blessed me, Patricia, with this wonderful warm hug. I’m grinning like a cheshire cat now, and will have to go outside and find someone to hug right now… you know, pay it forward. I’m sure they won’t see it the same way though… they’ll most likely see it as assault. Oh dear, I’m rambling again…

Hmmm… perhaps I can just sit here and keep grinning? Yes, much safer. :P

Thank you for your uplifting words. They are much appreciated! :)

“Do you every feel this way – so full it just spills out?” Yes, I do :-) It reminds me of the feeling I’d get on the last day of school in June. The school bus pulling up to our driveway; the trees, luxuriously dressed for summer in shades of green (SO welcome after the long hard winter on the farm); the air still smelling spring-like… my sisters and I hopped off the bus and ran across the green grass… smiling… with what seemed like a lifetime of long lazy days ahead until September. Sigh. Kinda chokes me up, just remembering…sniff…

What a beautiful burst of sunshine this rainy Tuesday morning – thank you so much! It makes my heart glad to know that you were feeling such joy and wonder. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I had one of those moments yesterday – crossing back over the river (I have to get a ferry home) after a very long and tiring day, I was just so amazed by the pattern of light on the water, so grateful for what the river has given me, how it has soothed my soul and let me be me…

Fortunately I had shades on so the other passengers couldn’t see me crying with gratitude ;-)

It sounds like the sunshine really brightened your day. The sun always gets me going — like a real boost that I can’t get any other way. The breeze, the smell, the birds all add to it.

I am not much good in hot weather, but a bit of sunshine just opens up energy channels in me. The TV guy says 79′F on Sunday…I think that will lift my spirits after all this rain.

Patricia, this was my first stop by here, and oh, I’ve enjoyed that visit. Your outpouring of gratitude is very touching, and I’m sure your regular readers feel your joy and love. I adore that particular e. e. cummings work, and this line especially resonated with me today: “a blue true dream of sky.”

    Lovely!

    Meredith,
Welcome, welcome and thank you for your lovely comments. I just love it when an e.e. cummings’ piece comes up in my meditation series – makes me think – something else I love to do.

Took me a few minutes to find your comment and moderate. Again Thank you
