KISS and Tell

I am very busy cutting up and putting in the freezer  –  ONIONS…yep!  And in the current heat wave we are having, I need to keep at it for a bit longer.

Now all the tears are cleaning my eyes and I love the smell of fresh onions and wow do they flavor up my chicken soup – all my cooking!

All this good and yummy food from the CSA box is just making me smile.  So I decided to Keep It Simple and Sweet (KISS) and tell you what I was doing and share with you the value of a smile from this TED talk… Enjoy!

Do you think that you smile 400 times a day?  More or less?  Can a smile change your whole attitude? What made you smile today?

Looking forward to your comments:

Hi Patricia .. great that the weather’s warmed up and you’re able to get on with the job of harvesting your freezer .. good for you.

The Smile TED video is great – and I sure wish he’d told me 50 years ago .. that I’d live a long time if I smiled more!! Cheers for now .. Hilary

    Hi Hilary,
I will be over to read your good words in a few…and I thank you for dropping by and reading what I had to say today…

The other nice thing about processing food is that my mind keeps thinking up new topics to write about here – thoughtful food!

    Keep smiling
Oh that Hindsight is so 20/20

KISS is so good Laurie and I love to smile and lose and extra 10 calories on my walk – plus folks often smile back

Hi Patricia! I have EARNED my smile line wrinkles, haha! Years ago I remember a bumper sticker – or something – that said “Smile – it makes others wonder what you are up to” and I love that! Besides being overly friendly (is that possible?) I do smile a LOT. My two crazy dogs make me smile all day long with their antics and cuteness too (when they aren’t driving me crazy!). Love those TED videos. I have a ton saved to catch up on one of these days now that I’m home with decent internet.
    :) hugs :)

    Welcome home from the lake…

always good to have better connections :)

So enjoyed your post about iron in enriched food – wow, you really tell it like it is

    Hi Patricia,

I also live by the KISS ‘principle’…it certainly makes life flow much easier.

My smile is the first thing people notice about me. I feel it is the most important key to establishing friendliness. No one is attracted to grim or sour people. I love to catch another person’s eye, smile and make a lighthearted comment.

life does flow much easier – I just so always want to take giant steps first – then I have to step back

I think smiling often makes folk’s eyes twinkle too – what a great invitation in sometimes a hard to take world!

Patricia, have you ever tried the Outback Steakhouse’s “blooming onion?” That one takes the culinary possibilities of the tearing vegetable to a new level! Of course it’s a not a prescription for good health no matter how divine the taste is.

I smiled a lot today playing with the kids watching a comedy in the basement. A surefire way to brighten up anybody’s day.

Worried I might not find you here this weekend with all your busy doings and busy blog. I am loving the musicals series and am just amazed at the good information sharing and that all the other posts are still up and running also. Reading like crazy.

We are having a bit a heat wave…. 93 today – so I too am downstairs preparing to watch the next round of Upstairs Downstairs…

And my pup ZIP is running from window to window trying to catch an outside venturing squirrel – he is making me laugh right out loud with his antics!
Thanks for coming on by….looking forward to the Monday Morning Diary on Wonders in the Dark

Yes! Yes! Yes! I love this video! What a wonderful message. I think I smile a lot. A LOT. But heck, I can always do more. I had no idea that babies were born smiling, or that it made you appear more competent. Huh. I love this message Patricia. Thank you so much for sharing this!!!
