Love Poem to a Glorious Morning

Blue Icicles

Not a cloud sky
From orange and yellow to
Heavenly blue

Eyes water and freeze to cheek
Breathy smoke
Choose the sunny side

You take the grassy route
Enjoying the crunch as much as
Dried leaves

Swing the leg from hip
Mouth smiles
Greetings happy

Pink haze shows on
Cherry and Plum
Rhody opens

Chill is deep
We homeward go
Hands wrap cuppa

We warm
In window patches of
Winter light

Could you enjoy this walk with us?  I think it could be described as brisk, what is your favorite walk?

Hi Patricia, my favourite walk is on the coast here in North Norfolk. Daisy and I walk through the pine woods, sometimes we collect pine cones (well, I collect, Daisy runs around saying ‘hello’ to everyone and generally just doing dog things!), then we climb over the bank and drop down onto the beach and walk back to the car park. Lovely. Your walk sounds delightful.

    Enjoy the journey.

Your walk sounds delightful. I can hardly wait until Zip is ready for the 5 miles around the Lake and the Capital building, soon – I can tell he will be ready.

Uber lovely! Really enjoyed this, Patricia.

Am enjoying a nice cuppa now. Cold here too.

Does Zip enjoy the cold? I bet he loves to be out and about.

My favorite walk — pretty-much any that I’m dressed properly for. I’ll take snow, rain, wind, heat. Well, actually not the heat so much. It heat saps me, so if Im gonna walk in Texas in summer, I’ll be out and back well before 9:00. Luckily I don’t have to worry about that for another 4 months, whoooohooo.

Zip likes the cold – rain is ok, but not so fun He just loved the crunchy frosty grass

I go early in the summer too, because heat is just not my friend.
    I swell and wilt!

Hi Jannie and Patricia .. had to comment – just picked up my piece of toast with my salad .. and I’ve eaten some of it .. but it looks like a jig-saw puzzle bit or a new country .. as I’ve munched round the crusts and left this picture-country piece .. ready to finish off mopping up salad juices.

But I have to type two-handed .. and eat that way too I guess .. cheers H

It’s gotten bitterly cold here the last few days and the only good part of going out is coming back in :)

Each stanza was a treasure, Patricia!

Love the blue sky reflection in the icicle shot! Lovely!

Pictures are from IT Girl’s searches and I think she found quite a good one for today’s post. Valentines’ Day we will share some of her own work.

It is crispy today again and lots and lots of clouds – rain returning We need some more “normal” weather. There were lots of folks skiing in the passes last weekend but I think it will be a shorter season.

Thank you. I used to run everyday, but now enjoy walking more and going a further distance – my body likes it too!

Patricia — I loved this poem. It has a happy beat to it. While I don’t experience quite this kind of cold, I do love the chilly walks where you see your breath and you have to move fast to keep warm. Then you return to house and it feels so wonderful as your face begins to thaw. Thank you for sharing your walk with us:~)

p.s. I can’t believe that you and Talon both had such beautiful shots of icicles…they WOW me:~)

It Girl found the icicle picture here for me
Talon told me that it took her over 200 frames to capture that particular drip…

    I thought it was stunning

Hi Patricia! Lovely poem! My days of being little miss suzy snowflake are over. I love walking outside when it’s spring, summer and fall – I do several miles a day – but this frozen tundra? No way. Please send sping!

    Patricia Reply:

    Oh Suzen,
I know exactly what you mean – when it is just too much weather, I use my Wii Fit and Active 2 and the stairs.

Sending you glorious thoughts of warmth and spring

Oh I was with you on this walk and remembering a similar morning here a few days ago. I could almost smell the air and feel the crunch. Just lovely Patricia! Terrill

Hi Patricia .. many thanks for mentioning my Creative February post .. love your poem – it’s brilliant … so evocative .. the scrunch of the grass ..

I think my favourite would be a stroll in the woods through the burgeoning Spring .. on the other hand a walk along the coast with the blast of the wind, or when the sky is blue and the sun is shining bright .. or along the Downs .. just a good walk!

Love it .. and I bet Zip does too – and that warming cuppa too ..

Cheers .. coolish and grey here today .. Hilary
