Bouquet of Roses

Bouquet of Roses

I was given a One Lovely Blog Award by the Lovely and Talented writer Joanna at Midlfe Journal

And followed the rules somewhat and gave away 5 of the 15 awards I was presented to give away. I gave them to folks that I had followed and had been supportive to me over my several years of blogging.

This is a group of 5 new bloggers that I am enjoying reading their words and posts and I hope they will pass the award on to a few others so that we can all enjoy this talent and add them to our blogging community.  So here goes:   5 Newbies I hope you will enjoy discovering.

~ One Lovely Blog Award~

I did not put these in any particular order.

The Enchanted Earth

Who Am I?  While that question is probably a little difficult to answer in a paragraph (or even in a lifetime), I can tell you that my name is Meredith, and that I love to ponder life’s mystery and beauty and joys and then write about them.  This blog is all about my interactions with Nature during my walks in the woods, visits to Botanical Gardens, in my own small, organic kitchen garden — and anywhere else I happen to be when inspiration strikes.

Meredith is actually taking a wee bit of time off after the death of a beloved family member.  I am still wandering around in her archives discovering her lovely pictures and writing about gardens and her thoughts about living in this old world.

Katie Gates Writes
Katie wrote on my blog post and I clicked over to discover her amazing writing.  I got hooked on the segments of her first novel that she was sharing on her blog and have now purchased the book because I cannot keep reading at this step by step pace.  It is great writing and I am studying her use of dialog, one of her many talents evident in her writing.

A resident of Los Angeles, Katie Gates is a writer and artist. She also serves the nonprofit sector as an independent fundraising consultant.

Create Write Now
Mari was an introduction from Joanna also and I am so new I have just made one comment on this blog so far – Beautiful.   When I get this piece published I will head back over to sign up for some journaling help because her writing is so powerful and my journaling is so Old School Thinking.

I think you will enjoy hearing Mari sing her song too.

When a Multiple Sclerosis (MS) exacerbation kidnapped my body’s right side, I needed some way to teach myself how to write with my left hand. So I started free writing (stream of consciousness) in a journal notebook. I got more than a functioning left hand! What I discovered (and the discoveries continue) was my true Self, buried under the old, negative, hypercritical baggage (I call it crazycrap) I’ve been carrying around since childhood.

My self-therapy journaling helps me revise my thoughts and determine what I want to be, do and have in my life. It guides me in adjusting my attitudes, modifying my behavior and creating a happier relationship with myself. And my Journal’s teaching me how to write again with my right hand!

EXitStage Right
Snaggle Tooth lives in Cape Cod Maine and shares her photography and art work on her spot.  She works several jobs and I could not get a picture of her so maybe she will share one on her avatar.  I like her stories about her rather unruly neighbors and getting back and forth to work in all sorts of weather, and I feel as though I am visiting a favorite spot and discovering new ones on her site.  I am always delighted when I see her commenting on folk’s blogs because I just know she has something unique to share.

Artist Alert! I create all kinds of things. Closet musician, song-writer, Story, NF writer, Book Designer, Poet, Painter, n Sculptor. Working another job tho. Long hair, fairly ancient. Where’s the Dough? Maybe I’ll get paid some instead of eating it. I’ll get there one day soon, because I’m very determined n hard-working. Someone has to do it! As usual, I’ll volunteer. Time n energy helps.

Conduit of Joy
I was introduced to Kara by Lisa of Practical Intuitive  and have enjoyed her blog ever since.  Kara will do a reading for you for free if you subscribe to her blog and that was quite a remarkable experience for me, helping me to reveal my intuitive side and peel away some of the layers of my thinking that were not so conducive to being my best self.   I have enjoyed learning all the new information from her articles and I think you might enjoy her spot too.  Another Lawyer with a writing career!

A few words about  Kara:

I believe that the highest good any person can achieve is by being fully themselves to the highest degree possible.  I believe that if a person uses her or his talents as fully and authentically as possible,  s/he is honoring the Divine in the highest and most honorable way.  By being ourselves, and serving others with those talents, we fulfill the reason we were put on Earth.
My greatest fulfillment is seeing others become more authentically themselves.

~ I love Reading This Blog Award~

Jungs Programme Notes
Yep!  This is number 6 and I said I was giving away 5, but this blogger does not fit into the Lovely Blog Category.  From what I can tell, Miles McClagan is from Scotland originally and now lives in Tasmania.  The music videos that are shared are very interesting and I attempt to figure out often how they relate to the writing.  I just so enjoy reading these words and the descriptions – I thought you might like to know?

Mile’s Own Words:

A blog about pride in the local area of Tasmania, pride in the fresh clean air, and pride in the great girl I fancy with the blue eye shadow.
“I’m thinking of turning my blog into a 20/20 blog – a 20 word point counterpoint argument with myself….

The criteria for accepting the award are as follows:
•    Post it with the name of the person who granted you the award along with a link to her Web site.
•    Pass the award on 15 blogs that you have newly discovered (if possible).
•    Contact the bloggers to notify them they have received the award.

Do you enjoy meeting or reading someone new?  Which blogger would you chose to introduce us to? Did you know any of these bloggers already?  How do you find the newbies?  What motivates you to subscribe?

Looking forward to your lovely comments:

Thank you, Patricia, for awarding and highlighting some beautiful blogs (a couple of which are my friends and I enjoy immensely) and some that are brand new to me and to which I look forward to becoming acquainted.

Hope you are having a fabulous holiday weekend.

  2. J.D. Meier Says:

I always enjoy meeting and reading someone new. I think it’s important to think of blogs like rivers and not lakes. It’s about letting blogs flow in and flow out. It’s not static.

  3. Jannie Funster Says:

More awesome new friends, and old ones revisited with love and light! Can it get much better than blogging?? :)

I like what Kara says about using our talents in our Divine place in the Universe. And you sure use your writing talent here, Patricia, to share so freely. Thanks so much.

    Have a happy day!

Heartiest of congratulations are in order, methinks. The Enchanted Earth is actually one of my favourite blogs ever. I hope Meredith is doing okay during this difficult time.

  6. suzen Says:

Hi Patricia! Congrats lady! Your writing, creativity and soul shine thru on your blogs – a well deserved reward.

I am not really on a hunt to find more blogs to follows but I do read others as times may permit. Since my own blog is evolving into the health area, I’ve started reading more medical blogs and it helps with school as well.

  7. Katie Gates Says:

Many, many thanks for the Lovely Blog Award, Patricia! And many thanks, too, for posting the Amazon link. I hope you are enjoying the book!

I look forward to reading the other blogs that you described here. I am consistently impressed and humbled by all the great writing that people share through cyberspace.

I will make my acceptance of this award official next week. (I’ve got a sort of time-sensitive post planned for this Wednesday, when I do my weekly blog.)

    Happy blogging to all!

  10. Patricia Says:

These blogs are fun to discover and highlight….and having this award to share just gave me a push to get the word out. I am slow to reply because I did have a great holiday weekend helping Library Girl set up her new library at a school 2 hours south of here…then I did an unheard of thing…I took the day off of the computer on Monday and Read Katies’ book cover to cover – That was a nice break in the routine

  11. Patricia Says:

I love the idea of rivers….I am going to get out my blogging raft and discover 4 more blogs to share in the near future

  12. Patricia Says:

Thank you for your good visit and comments….I was amazed to discover a Funster ping back on one of these new blogs….that was a most interesting discovery…You do get around!

  13. Patricia Says:

That is how I discovered Arts Web Show – he made a comment on my blog – that is a fun way too…
I feel like I just have to keep getting out there, because I do not have so many subscribers or commentors….

  14. Patricia Says:

Yes meeting new bloggers is great- I have been keeping Meredith close into my thoughts this weekend. She wrote such a lovely tribute

  15. Patricia Says:

I got very busy reading lots of healthy writer blogs for this past year, but they do not usually come back and read on my blog…or respond to comments.

Not that reading is just about reciprocity, but I think I shared some of the important emotional issues and healing things I went through this past year, and I would like folks who are in the health professions to understand the personal journey of change…and I think I have some wisdom to share, that I do not find on those blogs and which might benefit some of those experts.

I just love to read good writing and feel that one of my important functions as a blogger is to read and subscribe….every writer needs someone to read their words…

  16. Patricia Says:

I did my cooking on Monday for the week and then sat down and read your book all the way through….It was a lovely read and it felt like a lovely way to take a day off
    Thank you
I divided up the blog awards post to accommodate my schedule and needs…so I think I opened the door to multiple possibilities of whatever works for you

  17. Patricia Says:

I leave the pictures up to IT Girl and I thought this one was just perfect. Thank you for your kind words.

I am sure I moved, dusted and re-organized a ton of books….and we had fun creating a bulletin board for her too….School begins on Wednesday 9/8….I think she is ready….

My parents were both teachers, this weekend drill felt very much like passing on the torch…This is how we spent most Labor Days in my life

  18. Patricia Says:

    Arts Web Show…

Thank you, and thank you for stopping on by….I need to get over and see what is new and creative at your spot….a very exciting blog to visit too..

  19. Lisa@Practically Intuitive Says:

I’m so excited that you included my soul-sister Kara!! She is THE AWESOME, isn’t she? :)

Thank you for introducing me to some new reads. I’m heading to some of them right now.

I have a lot of reading to do. Thanks for sharing. I find most new bloggers through clicking on links. I’ll subscribe to some right away if the first post or the about page intrigues me. Topic, great writing and their interaction in the comment section is what helps me to make up my mind.
