For some reason your comment went to moderation - sorry but you are here now. I think it would be fair to say "Life is really testing me right now".... The dinner turned out quite lovely and loving...but I need to slow down my life and routine right now....healing myself is supposed to me my #1 task and I think this post and experience was me losing sight of my goal and the outcome.

Mark,
Yep a loving adventure! and wow does the garage still smell yummy!

Have you downloaded the free cookbook? Harvest Potluck...I also make the Chicken Pot Pie for the vegetarians with tofu...or brocolli as the main ingredient.

Sometimes, life really tests us :)

Whenever one of those moments happens, the ones where we just can't believe something went wrong that just shouldn't ... I remember a poster I used to see on the wall of my Dentist's office as a kid. The poster showed a baby duck and it read, "It's easy to be an angel when nobody ruffles your feathers."

Congrats on a great looking chocolate chip pie.

Jannie,
It was a great feast and fest...I have a gas range and I don't know why I am klutzing up so much right now...but it is kind of hard to take. What did you fix for Jim's Birthday ?

Umm, um, um. Both those pies look heavenly. Made with such beautiful love.

Not so great about the spilled chicken broth, oh no. And burned dish. I was amazed the other day I actually had a replacement burner cover in the cupboard. I'd say I go through a full set of 4 a year, from turning on the wrong burner. Smartly, I only buy the plain white ones now which are pretty cheap a set.

Sounds like a great time for an early Valentines!

xo

Betsy,
It turned out to be a wonderful day and a loving feast. I also learned that chicken fat is a quite a fabric softener for my socks and slacks!

Hilary,
Spilling the stock just added about 6 hours too much preparation and clean up to the feast....it turned out to be nice to have the company to share the experience :)

Talon,
Because there is nearly 0 flour in this pie filling the nuts are necessary. I have used pecans, almonds, hazelnuts, and macadamia nuts...those are a bit over the top too rich. I have used potassium stock (brocolli) and tofu in the chicken pot pie for my veggie foodies....I am still trying to figure out how to make the mushroom soup without burning onto the bottom of the pan? I did stir for 20 minutes as suggested - maybe whisking instead or cooking in the MW would save the burn?

Dot,
You are welcome....I have been reading your blizzard updates...too bad the Olympic Parks do not have that snow?
I think I have reached an age where the kids need to assist with more of the cooking - and I know my partner does, because he eats most of this food I prepare.....I had chicken salad and greens for my feast.
