I am quite worried that younger women do not realize or understand that all this new medical information – health information has come at a hard cost to women…and only since Clinton was President….Women’s hormones were studied in MEN as was breast cancer and Women’s health was left to the Psychiatrist because it was truly just hysterical and mental illness.

I am hoping we do not keep going backward in these areas….

I find most of the young girls I work with would just as soon take a pill and feel better for 30 minutes rather than drop a food that is causing the problem. The hardest part of the book is the month chart…most of the kids I work with will not write down or remember what they ate for the past 3 days….too boring.

And remember we have Sarah Palin in the popular slot making tons of money for not having any knowledge about a subject and for denial – just make up the truth for the moment…They are more worried about breast implants than cancer, they are more concerned about high heels than health, and about what is the tiniest amount I can eat and still wear a size 6 – who cares about health?

Thanks for adding another book to the list.

Sometimes I think we need to make ourselves ill in order to understand….or feel pain so greatly we are willing to change

Dr. Christiane Northrup is writing to these things now too – as her book about Women’s Bodies Women’s Wisdom…integration is starting to happen….knowledge is starting to be a shared commodity – not private stock.

Yes, I think men can learn understanding too…and we are now starting to learn about men’s hormonal changes and gaining knowledge there to change cancer rates…and promote health

I just thought I’d put another book into the mix .. about 10 years ago I started having pelvic organ prolapse .. fortunately it’s static .. but I looked at the alternatives without worrying to much – as I (fortunately) don’t fall into that category. I came across an American book “Saving the whole Woman” by Christine Ann Kent, published by BridgeWorks. Here she gives the essential reasons why women should never have hysterectomy .. I have to say half the book I could have done without .. but I read what I needed & was suitably impressed to take cognizance of that above fact. She gives exercises et al .. – another book for us women to know about.

I will almost certain get the ‘Insane’ book as it will make interesting reading .. – useful knowledge to have ..
