Aren’t these tree stories interesting…I also read about a reforesting project in New Zealand, which the neighbors are controlling so that the government will not do anything destructive to their natural habitat. They have created their own preserve – will it come down to that for all of us?

Hi Patricia – Lucky Cath – I’ve just ordered mine.

Trees can be the cause of great Puzzlement. A few years ago the brain-dead government here built a freeway tunnel under some inner suburbs – and of course they chose the contractor with the cheapest quote. The tunnel leaked water and has caused huge losses from the water table, which the large trees of Melbourne rely on to survive. Now they have to water them to keep them alive.

Thank you for coming by and responding. I just went by myself to the movie because I could not find anyone else to go…the theatre was full of women just like me. I am looking forward to seeing it again.
I heard a news story on the BBC while traveling and I kept asking the names of plants and trees I was not familiar with…but it was a profound experience as that is a question I had been asking my own city and neighborhood association without getting any decent answers – I had just finished asking the State Forester about the same issue. It was on my mind…also working on how to keep the flooding out of my house on the heavy rain days.

Interesting point you bring up about the trees. Good for you to know the difference of what trees should be planted (I for one would not know!). Congrats to the winners! And I do want to see that movie (but I need to find a girl friend to go as hubby has no interest!).

Mama Zen and Bunny got Blog
I am going again with my friend to see it – there is so much there, and it is a blogger who succeeded! I own 6 DVDs this one just might have to be #7…can you guess? I really liked this movie.

I watched a lot of Julia Child on TV when I was healing from several surgeries as a child….she always made me laugh out loud

Oh I think they could plant both, just the Fir trees should be dominant. Plus we have no leaf clean up systems here…another responsibility to consider.

I want to see the movie again! It was so creamy good…
