Most folks do not know that Mr Rogers was an ordained Presbyterian Minister – he was motivated by LOVE. I too can not imagine a life without reading!

All your points are interesting, but I love the fact you got to hang with Mr. Rogers. He was so low key, but so dedicated and consistent. I'm not sure what motivated him, but I think he had a great message around self-acceptance and just be you because that's good enough. It sounds like you lead a well-read life and I think the beauty of that is it's the closest thing to packing in multiple lives into one. I can't imagine a life without reading. J.D. Yes the school systems have changed quite a bit but my children did not thrive in the changed systems – home schooling turned out to be a better route for us – especially for middle school/junior high.
My oldest went to Denmark for a year to experience herself as a great student – not a student with wealthy parents to please.
