Hi Patricia and Alex - What an awesome story. I did not realise how Alex and Raul met. The way he made the move to France in only two weeks is very inspiring.

@Patricia
Thank you for sharing the story with your readres. I feel honoured that you felt it was something worth sharing.

@Betsy
I'm glad you enjoyed the piece and I'm glad I learned that lesson (finally!) ;)

@Dot
And fortunately I've found someone who makes it even easier to love myself!

@Andy
I'm glad too!

@Mark
I'm all about sharing experiences - especially if it can help others.

@Kelly
I agree that Patricia's stories are gold. Of course my personal favourite would be my sister's (the Urban Panther) but then again I'm biased that way. ;)

@Vered
It's amazing how such a simple (almost cliche) sentence is so difficult to learn and yet when we do it has such a huge effect.

@Barbara
It's my goal to following in the footsteps of James of Men with Pens and take over the blogosphere. Thanks for the support!

@Jannie
Far too few people take the risks that create great happiness because they're afraid of failing and yet look at the rewards when we do.

@Liara
Intuition is indeed the key - and although sometimes I wish I had listened to my intuition earlier, along the way I learned a bunch of other good things that have helped create who I am now and I wouldn't change that.

@Jeanne
I'm really glad you found inspiration in Dorian's interview and that you also found this story inspirational - because inspiration is exactly what I want to pass along to people!

@Tom
It doesn't just flourish - it continues to grow every day, both for Raul and for Spain.

@Mariangeles
On my first night in Spain, I feel in love with it and never wanted to leave.

Jeanne,
Thank you for your comments and dropping by - welcome. I very much enjoy Alex's writing - here's another synchronicity of sorts: Elizabeth who wrote contest entry #2 posted here, is Alex's sister.

Definitely beautiful writing runs in their family.

Tom,
Thank you for coming on by and making such a good observation. Those hunches are very good things.

Mariangeles,
Happy in Spain - awe that sounds so wonderful! Welcome to the site, Alex's writing is just wonderful. I am so thankful he decided to share this piece of his work with me.

Alex tells the story like the love still flourishes. I guess that's what I like the best about it - that and the fact that he followed his gut to go. Our hunches are there for good reason.

Patricia,

Wow! It's a small world. You just left a lovely comment on my blog and I am now here and what do I find... but this beautiful story featuring Alex Fayle's story and a link to his Someday Syndrome.

I recently found his blog from a tweet sent out by Dorian (aka @coffeesister on twitter). Dorian had been interviewed by Alex Fayle in a moving chronic illness post that I then tweeted and retweeted on twitter because it was so good. (I believe it was a May 18th post).

In any event, as a previous commenter noted... the Someday Syndrome blog is buzzing.

The story above is inspirational on so many levels... following your dreams, overcoming fears, taking chances, and following your gut.

I have to agree with commenters above that this quote (“After falling in love with myself, I had finally let someone else love me too”) beautifully captures a very important concept that too many people never really learn.

Congrats to Alex Fayle on finding his dream job and happiness with Raul. What a great story!

Thanks for posting this, Patricia!

When you choose to listen to intuition, listen to the lvoe in your heart, then nothing else matters anymore. You redefine the meaning of existence. Some people would say you reconnect with soul, with the core purpose of being. Thanks for this!
