Thought you might like to see the house I am grateful for its beauty and for helping us grow and fund our lives.
The first two pictures are from 20 years ago after the first pruning of hedges, wild blackberry vines and the removal of 8 giant rotting fruit trees. (It was thunderous to hear the branches break and fall in the wind and rain.)
The next two pictures are of the house front and back again. I took them, with all the leaves coming down, just the other night so you could see all the changes that have taken place on the exterior.
I have added pictures of the two walnut bowls that a neighbor lathed out of the wood from the giant walnut tree that also had to come down. They are made from where the branches extended out from the truck of the tree.

That looks like a great, cozy house with a lot of light from those windows. What a great idea, to make something from the walnut wood. The bowls are gorgeous!

I’m sooo glad you showed the photos!! I was wondering the other day when I read your last post what the house looked like. And you answered my inner query, thanks.
Bravo!
And wonderful big trees around your property too.
And bowls with a real story and history behind the making of.

What a difference a few decades make! I love the theme of taking something old and making something new out of it - both with your home and the walnut tree/bowls. Such is life, eh?
I’ve tagged you in a fun little meme to get to know one another! If you’d like to play, please check out the post below

Betsy, Dot, Davina, and Jannie
I will do a group thank you for your comments as I am having a computer glitch - connections - today and am borrowing time on someone else’s…
I thought it would be fun to share the pictures - and then say there are lots of inside stories too…such as the petrified dead rat, clutching Easter Candy we found in the walls and pitched out into the big trees…the tail hooked and the kids were grossed out for weeks until we could find a way to unhook ratty from the tree branch and dispose of the corpse in a less visible manner!
The bowls are beautiful and we gave away about 20 that the fellow made from that huge tree - the stories continue
