Hi Patricia - what an inspiring story. We certainly don't hear all that's going on over there in the papers. It makes our troubles and worries about recession seem small in comparison. Rita – I thought it was an important story to get out – one woman can make a difference and I thought I would try to do some fundraising for her children here in my little town. The power of one is an amazing thing to behold.

Vered – Yes! each person does what they can and I think my job was to get the message out and about. I am going to now figure out how I can send some money to her for her children – bring it up at a meeting or book group. I think even $25.00 would go a long way for her work and show support.

Thank you both for making a comment and reading about her work.

Patricia,

What a special woman Rawi is! Her selflessness shouts from the page, and the look of compassion in her eyes is abundant. When I read the line “When you have so many children, you’ll do anything for them,” I lost it.

I never take my children’s health for granted – I feel blessed every day. But it takes armies of Rawis to “heal the world.” What she has done in her “little corner” is so magnanimous that I hope it inspires people to help even ONE suffering child.
