Sand in the City

Today I am sculpting sand and taking pictures for you of the fundraiser for the Children’s Hands- On Museum.  I will attempt to get all the pictures posted by the very next day, because it will take 15 teams 7 hours to complete their sand sculptures and then several hours for folks to view and put their dollars in the sand pails to vote for the People’s Choice Award. Our team is 510 Interiors (sustainable flooring, carpeting, and specialized products that make the world a better place) and each team is headed up with an architect (MSGS architects and planners is part of our team) on the project.  Fourteen folks trying to make the museum another year fabulous for the children in our region on 15 teams, this is really quite a community effort.

I am using the Gala Dinner at Anthony’s Homeport Restaurant for my birthday party and I cannot imagine anything more fun than spending a day/weekend with so many folks giving to the children of our region. Wow is this exciting or what!?

If you would like to make a contribution to the fundraiser here is the address:

Hands-On Children’s Museum
106 11th Avenue SW
Olympia, Washington 98501

If you write a check put the team name in the memo line of the check to place a vote.  I will caption the pictures with the team names.

Hope you caught the excitement and fun in this post?

    Jennifer,
Thank you for making such a great comment on this site – yes! it was a wonderful two days for the event and now that we are back to rain we know just how lucky we were. I am always delighted and amazed by the sculptures and the themes/designs displayed. The Gala was a great party and so nice to visit with so many of the local people involved and hopeful that the museum will make enough funds to keep on helping children grow and learn.
Nice to see a community at celebration in the sunshine.
How is your triathlon training coming along? I am rooting for you –
